Cursiv.news is an independent digital publication of political journalism: politics, public power and fact-checking. We handle personal data with the minimum needed and with transparency.

2. Data we collect

Only what the site needs:

• Navigation: in aggregate, via analytics and advertising partners.
• Email: if you join the newsletter.
• Technical: browser type and a daily hash for visit ranking — no visitor cookie and no raw IP stored.

3. How we use it

• Run and improve the site;
• Send the newsletter, if you asked;
• See the audience in aggregate.

We do not sell personal data. We may share technical navigation data with analytics and advertising, as this policy and the law allow.

4. Cookies and advertising

We use cookies so the site works and for analytics.

• Google AdSense: third parties, including Google, use cookies (such as DoubleClick) to serve ads based on prior visits.
• Opt-out: Google Ad Settings or www.aboutads.info.
• You can also manage cookies in the browser.

5. Retention

We keep data only as long as the purpose lasts. Newsletter subscribers can ask for deletion at any time.

6. Your rights

Under the LGPD and, where it applies, the GDPR, you can:

• Access what we hold about you;
• Ask for correction or deletion;
• Object to processing;
• Ask for portability.

7. Changes

This policy is in effect from 25 March 2026. Updates appear on this page with a new date. Staying on the site after a change means you accept the revised practice.
